Dr. Gholam Ali Beski, who is nicknamed “Father of Iran’s Nature” and “Baba Beski”, was born in 1310 AH in “Besk” village of Sabzevar city. After receiving a diploma from Haj Mulla Hadi Sabzevari High School and successfully passing the national medical exam, he left for the capital and, through unceasing efforts, obtained his doctorate from Tehran University. Dr. Beski’s great interest in higher education led him to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology. In 1345, he graduated from Tehran University in this field and, inspired by his philanthropic, social, and mystical ideals, chose Gonbad Kavus as the location of his medical services. In 1348, with the help of his wife, Mrs. Shafiqa Goladhar, who studied nursing and midwifery, Dr. Beski founded the first private hospital and maternity hospital in Mazandaran Province and devoted his efforts to helping patients and mothers in this deprived area.
